MEET THE HOUSEFIT TEAM
Dr. Beth Templin, OwnerDr. Beth Templin, PT, DPT, GCS is a leading Geriatric Physical Therapist in the Saint Louis area who helps older adults move and feel better through use of exercise, and she makes it FUN! She is board certified in Geriatric Physical Therapy and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Washington University in Saint Louis. She opened her practice in 2017 as a mobile Physical Therapy clinic and quickly realized there was a need for more, a need to find a better way to serve the aging community. She expanded the practice in 2018 to add her current gym space.
Dr. Beth is involved in her local American Parkinson Disease Association and is PWR!Moves Certified. She is passionate about assisting older adults to be proactive about maintaining their physical health and fitness so they can remain active and independent throughout their lives. Beth enjoys spending time with her husband Keith and their two daughters Estelle and Harriet. In her free time, she loves to craft, cook and travel. |
Marina Clements, Physical TherapistMarina graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2018 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Marina completed part of her clinical education at the St. Louis Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association where she received special training in treating people with Parkinson Disease through the use of exercise. She is PWR!Moves Certified. Marina is part of a new generation of motivated individuals that are seeking to break the traditional mold of Physical Therapy. Marina is passionate about providing quality, 1-on-1 care, and strives to make you part of your healthcare team.
In her free time, Marina enjoys staying active by swing dancing, attending live music events, acro yoga, and group fitness classes. She looks forward to working with you in your home to get you “HouseFit”! |
Kim Bergfeld, Physical TherapistKim was born and raised in St. Louis. She graduated from Washington University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She's worked in outpatient orthopedics and in fitness directed toward older adults. She is PWR!Moves certified. Her passion is the geriatric population. She loves helping people reduce their pain and improve their function to allow them to be more independent or maintain their independence.
Kim spends most of her free time with her husband and two sons, ages 4 and 1. She loves trying new forms of exercise but benefits the most from group yoga classes. Her family enjoys traveling, hiking, playground hopping and going to the pool. |
Tonya Becker, Physical TherapistTonya graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. She continued with her education, graduating with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from A. T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona.
She found a passion for working with older adults and working with individuals who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. She became certified in LSVT BIG and in PWR! (Parkinson’s Wellness and Recovery). She strives to understand the goals of each of her patients and is driven to provide a progressive functional treatment plan to support an active, independent lifestyle. Tonya has been married to her husband, John since 2013 and is the mother of two girls. In her free time, she loves to travel and be outdoors hiking and camping. |
Erica Sumner, Physical TherapistErica graduated from Missouri State University in 2017 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Her clinical interests include working with adults to improve or maintain their independence, providing guidance to those with persistent pain conditions on how to continue to live a full and active life, and helping people eliminate or manage their dizziness. Erica is PWR!Moves Certified. She will spend every visit carefully listening to and addressing any concerns, empowering you to reach your goals, and celebrating every victory with a smile and a high-five.
When Erica isn't at work, she can be found hiking, reading, or gardening. |
Tia Shepard, Physical TherapistTia graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Prior to joining the HouseFit team she worked in intensive rehab for patients with neurological conditions helping them get back to moving and doing the things that they care about. She first found her passion for helping older adults feel good in their bodies as a Pilates instructor. Since then she has continued to seek knowledge and training to better support individuals looking to stay active and take charge of their health.
Tia and her wife live in South City and have two mischievous, but sweet cats. She spends her time outside of work reading, watching movies, taking Pilates classes, hiking and spending time with friends. |
Ellen Brause, Physical TherapistEllen graduated from Maryville University of St. Louis in 2020 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During school, she found a passion for working with older adults and providing 1-on-1 care to her clients. Through exercise and activity she wants to help her clients maintain independence and continue to participate in activities they love.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and my husband Brendan, exercising, and reading. |
Rachel Johnson, Physical TherapistRachel was born and raised in St. Louis. Rachel attended PT school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2016. Rachel and her family moved back to St. Louis to be near family, and Rachel is thrilled to be a member of the House Fit team. Rachel is passionate about helping her patients achieve their highest level of physical mobility and independence. She is PWR!Moves certified, and is excited to work with the geriatric population. Rachel is eager to use her skills to identify and treat gait and movement deviations in order to restore function.
Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, Mia and Eleanor. She loves to run, go for family walks with the dog, and experience the outdoors. |
Sandy Parres, Physical Therapist
Sandy has been a Physical Therapist since 1985, and she earned her degree at St. Louis University. Prior to working at HouseFit, she was the Lead Therapist in a large nursing facility. Other past work experience included home health and working in an Acute Hospital. She has always enjoyed working with geriatrics and is passionate about her career, and striving to help her clients gain function, as well as independence. She enjoys motivating her clients and is very excited for the 1 on 1 approach. Sandy is PWR!Moves certified and enjoys bringing lots of tools and ideas to each session making the treatment challenging and fresh. She also enjoys sprinkling in some fun. Outside of work she can be found playing with her two rescue dogs, bicycling, gardening or golfing. Sandy’s pride and joy are her two adult children who keep her busy traveling to their homes in New York and Texas. |
Mike Mueller, Physical Therapist AssistantMike was born and raised in St. Louis City and graduated from St. Louis Community College at Meramec with an Associate Degree in Applies Sciences from the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program. Prior to joining the HouseFit team, Mike worked as an outpatient PTA at a variety of independent and assisted living, and skilled nursing facilities. He thoroughly enjoys working 1-on-1 with the aging population and looks forward to making positive changes in their quality of life by being part of the HouseFit team.
When Mike is not at work, you can find him competing in local pool tournaments, spending time with his church community or searching for the next pair of fun shoes to add to his collection. He stays active by working out regularly, playing recreational sports, and cycling. Mike also loves spending time with and spoiling each one of his ten wonderful nieces and nephews whenever possible. |
Nicole Gills, Physical TherapistNicole received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. After starting her physical therapy career in outpatient orthopedics, she became passionate about the aging population, particularly those with bone health conditions, including osteoporosis. Nicole strives to empower her patients to lead healthy and active lives in order to experience the highest quality of life.
Nicole enjoys going on adventures with her husband and two dogs, Stanley and Stella. She also loves staying active through fitness, spending time outside, and playing the piano. |
Heather Brown, Operations ManagerHeather was born and raised in St. Louis. She graduated from Truman State University with a degree in Public Communication. Post grad she moved home and earned her Masters Degree in Business Administration at University of Missouri St. Louis. As Operations Manager here at HouseFit, Heather strives to make the gym an inviting, efficient and collaborative environment to improve community fitness and health.
In her free time she enjoys playing pinball, photography, traveling, learning new skills and playing with her dog Baguette. |
Becky Duepner, Client Care SpecialistBecky is a St. Louis native who has a long history in customer service. She has a diverse background of working in retail, running her family's small business, and being a floral designer. Her favorite part of this job is interacting with, and getting to know the clients. She strives to make a personal connection with each person, and loves to learn how she can help them. Her ideal weekends include hiking, gardening, and spending time with her two kids

Mark Nagel, Billing CoordinatorOriginally hailing from Kansas City, Mark received a degree in English from Truman State University in 2020. His main goal here at HouseFit is to make it an open and inviting place. Coming from a background in Education, Mark was drawn to HouseFit's focus on lifelong learning.
In his free time, Mark enjoys reading, writing, and taking hikes. |
Erin Bradley, Client Care Specialist
Erin was born and raised in St. Louis. She has a degree in the arts with a focus in Art for Children and is currently taking some time away from education to spend more time with her husband and young daughter.
Outside of HouseFit, she teaches vinyasa yoga classes at a couple studios around south STL, volunteers for a local nonprofit, and enjoys playing the ukulele, reading thrillers, and spending time outdoors with her family |
