WHAT TO EXPECT

"Understanding how Regenerative Therapy will help
you conquer your pain step by step."

.Trying something new, especially after other treatments have failed, can feel uncertain. That’s why we take time to walk you through every part of your healing experience. At HouseFit, our gentle, non-invasive approach combines EMTT and Shockwave Therapy in a simple, comfortable visit that activates your body’s natural healing systems, without pain, medications, or downtime.

The Treatment Phase
The Treatment Phase is the first step in your healing process. During the Treatment Phase, you will come in for sessions 1-2 times a week. This phase usually lasts for a total of 6 weeks and starts off with a Comprehensive Evaluation. During your evaluation we will:
  • Review of your symptoms and condition.
  • Assess movement limitations and pain patterns.
  • Discuss  your health history and goals.
  • Explain your treatment options.
  • Create of a customized therapy protocol based on your needs.

After we develop a treatment plan, we will apply EMTT and Shockwave Therapy to the affected area.

EMTT Therapy (15-20 minutes)
EMTT is the first step in our treatment protocol. We will position you comfortably, so we have good access to the treatment area. We place the applicator over the target tissues, and may move it to allow us to tackle the problem area from different angles for maximum effectiveness. You do not need to remove clothing during EMTT, but we will make sure to ask you to remove your smart watch, phone, wallet and key FOB, so they do not get demagnetized during the session.

During the application, you may not feel anything, or you may feel a gentle warming or buzzing sensation. Rest assured that magnetic pulses are being delivered and cellular-level healing on a deep level is beginning. Most patients find EMTT deeply relaxing as the body begins to release tension and push out inflammation.

Shockwave Therapy (10–15 minutes)
Shockwave is the second step of our treatment protocol. Depending on the target tissues, you may receive Radial Shockwave, Focused Shockwave, or a combination of both. We will position you to allow easy access to the treatment area. For each, ultrasound gel is applied to the skin to ensure the energy is delivered to the treatment area. We may need to move clothing for the best access and use washcloths to drape as needed.

Radial Shockwave feels like a rhythmic tapping. Focused Shockwave feels more like a deep vibration or tingling. The goal is for you to feel the energy to ensure we are providing a therapeutic dose. Your therapist will maintain constant monitoring of your comfort level and will adjust the treatment intensity accordingly.

What To Wear
Plan to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to your treatment area (ex: knee, shoulder, back). Other than that, no special preparation is needed.

After Your Session
One of the best benefits of Regenerative Therapy is there is no recovery time or restrictions after receiving treatment. You can resume daily activities right away. Some clients may feel immediate changes and relief, while others will not. Some mild soreness (like post-exercise) is possible as we have just triggered the body's natural healing process. Over the next 1-2 days the body’s healing response continues to activate. You may begin to notice progressive improvement begins such as decreased pain and stiffness. Normal activity is encouraged. No downtime is required.

Similar to after a deep tissue massage, we recommend you stay well hydrated after each session. This will help to facilitate removal of any waste products or inflammation that your body is trying to release. We also recommend avoiding NSAIDs (Advil, Aleve, Meloxicam, Voltaren) immediately after treatment for a minimum of 72 hours after to allow for maximum effectiveness.

Between Sessions
Healing continues between visits with the benefits building with each session. No special care or restrictions are required, you simply continue your day as usual. Your pain may come back after a window of relief. This is normal and not an indication that Regenerative Therapy isn't working for you. We will ask you to pay attention to how your body is feeling, so that we can modify the treatment plan if necessary.

The Healing Phase
Once we have completed the treatment phase, the magic of your body's own healing continues for the next 12 weeks. During the treatment phase we applied healing energy to the damaged tissues. Now we just have to be patient and allow the body to continue fully healing itself.

Things you can expect during the Healing Phase:
  • Decreased frequency, or how often, you are experiencing of pain.
  • Decreased intensity, or how bad it hurts, of your pain.
  • Needing to use less pain medication for relief.
  • Being able to sleep better through the night.
  • Being able to do more of the activity that triggered your pain before the pain comes on.
  • Being able to recover faster after a pain provoking activity.
  • Being able to return to activities you've had to give up because of the pain.
  • Feeling less stiff and able to move with more ease.
  • Feeling stronger as you body recovers.

This is also the perfect time to layer in Physical Therapy and restorative exercise. While Regenerative Therapy triggers natural healing and promotes pain relief, it is not the entire solution for long-term relief.

Why Our Approach Feels Different
Unlike traditional treatments that only mask the pain, cause the pain to worsen, demand long recovery periods or only offer short-term relief, we are able to offer something different. Our regenerative therapies work to activate your body's own natural healing, even when other options have failed. They involve no pain, no downtime, and no invasive steps making them an ideal choice for many of our clients. They deliver lasting results and restored confidence in your body.

Whether you’ve been in pain for months or years, our gentle, advanced treatments can help you move again, feel better, and reclaim the activities you love - without surgery or drugs.
