A Personal Message from Leading Geriatric Physical Therapist, Beth Templin…

Hi, my name is Beth Templin and welcome to HouseFit.

Have you or a love one experienced problems with focusing? Trouble remembering recent events in detail? Misplacing or losing things more often? Forgetting appointments? Trouble learning new things? Difficulty finding words? Have you been told that losing your memory is a normal part of aging by friends or family members?

Many people believe their mental capacity and ability to think will automatically decline as they age and that they will develop dementia. This is NOT true. While there are some normal changes to your memory with aging, it does not mean you will automatically develop dementia and become dependent on others.

We've put together a Free GUIDE explaining the changes of memory with age, in order to help you know what’s “normal” and what may be an indication of something more serious.
Inside you'll find information on:

● How Many Older Adults Have Memory Issues
● Signs Your Memory Issues Are Serious
● Different Types of Memory
● Six Tips For Keeping Your Brain Healthy
● AND More…

Just click the “Yes! I Want The Free GUIDE” button above, enter your name and your email address and you'll receive the Free GUIDE by email.

I know so many older adults who believe that memory issues are a normal part of aging and that if you live long enough, you will develop Alzheimer’s Disease. This is NOT true. Many older adults are fearful of getting that diagnosis, so even if they are noticing changes in their memory, they don’t seek out help. My Free GUIDE will explain why it’s important to recognize the symptoms early and have proper diagnosis and treatment to minimize the impact of memory loss.

I’m doing this because too many older adults just accept their declining memory as a normal part of aging. They don’t realize all of the simple changes you can make in your life to improve your brain health and delay the onset of memory loss, slow the progression or even reverse the symptoms for an improved quality of life.

So, go ahead... click the “Yes! I Want The Free GUIDE” button, enter your name and your email address to receive the Free GUIDE by email.

But maybe you feel like you’ve read a lot of free information on the internet and really just want to talk to someone about your concerns. Is that you?

If so, then we offer a Free Memory Assessment with a Physical Therapist. When you schedule your visit, you will receive a 30-minute one-on-one assessment with one of our Physical Therapists. We will perform a memory screen to help you identify if your memory issues are a normal part of aging or something more serious. Based on your results, we can make recommendations for a program that's right for you and help you determine which of our services will help you reach your goals.

Here’s the most important thing... Most people get stuck trying to make a decision about what to do next. They go days, weeks, months (even years!) without taking action. The one thing we can guarantee is that by doing nothing, your memory will not improve all on its own. The next important thing is to take action.

(and how happy they are now...)

Ralph B.

"Beth is friendly, warm and has a thorough knowledge of the challenges facing someone with Parkinson’s Disease who, like me, has freezing and gait issues which not only make it difficult to start and continue walking even a few feet but also makes falling an unfortunate fact of life.

On her first visit, Beth assessed my living situation and made suggestions which made it easier for me to move around the house and resume doing some activities, like barbecuing, that I had stopped doing because I was afraid of falling.  With every visit, Beth had me do things that increased my strength and balance. I still freeze, but I am more independent and less reliant on my spouse to help me get in and out of my chair and move around the house. Falling remains a risk, but I now expect to go weeks rather than days between falls.

The benefit of in-home therapy for me has been learning techniques for dealing with my issues in the environment in which I live every day.
Beth makes it easy because she is always on time, never is in a hurry or rushed, and promptly submits my claims to Medicare. Beth is simply the best!"

Carol M.

I am very happy I took the steps to get involved with HouseFit. I had a fear of falling and needed to learn more about safety. Beth gave me confidence. She told me that I am never too old to gain strength. After several weeks there was an improvement in my arm strength and I was able to get up and out of a chair without holding on. You couldn't ask for anything better!
